What Our Players Say

From beginners to league champions, hear why players across Gainesville choose Jonesville Tennis Center as their home court.

“Jonesville Tennis Center has been my tennis home for over five years. The Har-Tru courts are impeccably maintained, the coaching staff is world-class, and the community here is unlike anything I have experienced at other facilities. My NTRP rating has gone from 3.0 to 4.0 since I started taking clinics with Marcus.”

“My two kids started in the Hot Shots program when they were six and eight. Three years later, they are competing in USTA junior tournaments and absolutely love the sport. David Chen and the junior coaching team have been incredible — they push the kids while keeping it fun. Best decision we made for our family.”

“I joined the Day League when I retired and it has given me a reason to get out of the house three mornings a week. The competition is great, the people are welcoming, and Robert keeps everything running smoothly. At 67, I am playing the best tennis of my life.”

“As a UF grad student, I was looking for affordable court time and good hitting partners. Jonesville's monthly membership is a steal for what you get — twelve beautiful clay courts, ball machines, and the round robins on Saturdays are a blast. It is the best-kept secret in Gainesville.”

“Cardio Tennis with Tanya is the highlight of my week. I have never been a serious tennis player, but these sessions are so fun and such a great workout that I got hooked immediately. I have lost fifteen pounds and actually learned to rally in the process. Cannot recommend it enough.”

“Our USTA 4.0 women's team has called Jonesville home for six years now. The facility is always tournament-ready, the staff bends over backward to accommodate our match schedule, and the viewing area makes home matches feel special. We have made it to sectionals twice — could not have done it without this place.”

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to the most common questions about our facility, memberships, lessons, and policies.

How do I reserve a court?

Courts can be reserved up to 48 hours in advance by calling the pro shop at (352) 332-8800 or by visiting the front desk in person. Members may also reserve courts through our online booking system. Walk-in play is available on a first-come, first-served basis when courts are open. Court reservations are held for 10 minutes past the scheduled start time before being released.

What membership options are available?

We offer three membership tiers: Individual Annual ($350/year), Family Annual ($550/year for a household of up to four), and Monthly ($40/month with no long-term commitment). Members receive discounted court fees, priority reservations, reduced lesson and clinic rates, guest privileges, and access to members-only events. You can sign up at the pro shop or by calling (352) 332-8800.

Do I need to be a member to play?

No, Jonesville Tennis Center is open to the public. Non-members are welcome to reserve courts, take lessons, and participate in most programs at our non-member rates. Membership simply provides discounted pricing, priority booking, and access to exclusive events and leagues.

How do I sign up for lessons?

Private and semi-private lessons can be booked by contacting the pro shop at (352) 332-8800 or by emailing info@jonesvilletennis.com. Let us know your preferred coach, schedule, and skill level and we will match you with the right instructor. Group clinics and programs can be joined on a drop-in basis or registered for in advance at the front desk.

What is your weather and rain policy?

Har-Tru clay courts are porous and drain quickly, so light rain does not always cancel play. However, courts will be closed during thunderstorms, heavy rain, or when lightning is detected within a 10-mile radius. If your reserved court time is cancelled due to weather, you will receive a full credit or reschedule at no charge. The pro shop makes all weather-related decisions — call (352) 332-8800 for real-time court status.

What should I wear on the courts?

Proper tennis attire is required. This includes athletic shorts, skirts, or tennis-specific clothing. Jeans, cargo shorts, and swimwear are not permitted. Footwear must be non-marking tennis shoes — no running shoes, sandals, or black-soled shoes, as these damage the Har-Tru surface. The pro shop carries a selection of court-appropriate shoes if you need a pair.

Can I bring guests?

Members may bring guests to the facility for a $5 guest fee per visit. Guests must check in at the pro shop and sign a liability waiver before entering the court area. There is no limit to how often you may bring guests, but the same guest may not visit more than six times per calendar year before a membership is required.

What is your cancellation policy for lessons and programs?

Private and semi-private lessons require at least 24 hours notice for cancellation. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice will be charged the full lesson fee. For group clinics and drop-in programs, no advance cancellation is needed since you are only charged when you attend. Camp registrations may be cancelled up to 7 days before the camp start date for a full refund; cancellations within 7 days receive a 50% credit toward future programs.

How do I join a USTA league team?

Contact the pro shop or email info@jonesvilletennis.com with your name, USTA number, NTRP rating, and preferred format (singles, doubles, or mixed). Our league coordinator will place you on an appropriate team based on your rating and availability. If you do not have a USTA membership or NTRP rating, we can help you register and arrange a rating match. League seasons typically run in the spring and fall.

Do you offer programs for beginners who have never played tennis?

Absolutely. Our Cardio Tennis program requires no tennis experience at all and is a great way to get started. We also offer beginner-level adult clinics that cover the fundamentals — grip, stance, basic strokes, and scoring — in a supportive group setting. For a more personalized introduction, a private lesson with one of our staff pros is the fastest way to learn the basics and build confidence before joining group play.
